Psychological Resilience among Collegians at University of Mosul
Abstract
Background: Psychological resilience is defined as a dynamic process where in individuals harness various protective factors to sustain and enhance their physical and mental well-being, effectively navigating stressors, setbacks, and adversity.
Objectives: The aim of study is to identify the level Psychological resilience Among Collegians at University of Mosul.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 722 students aged between 18-26 years who were student at university of Mosul in Mosul city, Iraq from the period of 15th November 2025 to 12th January 2026. data collected by using a questionnaire part i: consist of demographical data, part ii: consist psychological resilience scale adopted from (owaid,2025).
Results: The study's findings indicated that 53.6percent of the study sample was male and that the majority of participants were in the age range of 21to23 years, mean age was (21.20) and SD was (1.888). the result shows the participants with the highest percentage (73.8%) of the total levels of psychological resilience among collegians sample at university of Mosul.
Conclusion: According to the current study, the result show students at university of Mosul demonstrate with ahigh level of psychological resilience.
Recommendations: In order of the result that showed a high level of psychological resilience among students, he studies suggests leveraging these positive outcomes to enhance academic performance by implementing peer-support programs, where resilient students provide mentorship to those facing psychological challenges. Furthermore, it emphasizes the necessity of revitalizing psychological counseling units within colleges to provide structured support and ensure the sustainability of student well-being.
